![[Chris Squire]](../images/squire_morda.gif) Chris Squire was born on 4th March 1948. He began his music career in a church choir. He choose to play bass guitar, because "it looked easier - it had four strings instead of six".
Before creating Yes, he played with Peter Banks in the group called The Syn. He is the only Yes member to play in the band from the very beginning until now.
Squire released only one solo album: "Fish Out Of Water". Recently he created a project called "Conspiracy", in collaboration with Billy Sherwood. Their album was released in March 2000.
His first wife, Nicki Squire was leader of the band Esquire, which recorded two albums: "Esquire" (1987) and "Coming Home" (1994).
